Blanchard Public Schools received a $10,000 donation for student lunch debts from Yarbrough & Sons Heating, Cooling & Plumbing, a Blanchard business, as part of the company's newly launched "Feed 'Em Fund."

The substantial donation will pay off outstanding debts for students who are regularly concerned about their lunch bill, Child Nutrition Director Jamie Romine said.

“I’m thankful it will help these children not have to worry about a lunch bill, and if it’s taken care of or not,” Romine said.

Blanchard Superintendent Brady Barnes emphasized the impact of the donation on families facing financial challenges.

“Families that are struggling right now with the rising prices of food, fuel, everyday living costs – this will help them hopefully take a burden off their back with their family budget at home,” Barnes said.

Giving back to the community is at the heart of the initiative, Darren Yarbrough, owner and operator of Yarbrough & Sons, said.

“I think we always try to give back to the communities that we work for, and we’re appreciative of everything our community does for us throughout the year,” Darren said.
