MOORE CHAMBER GROWS ITS MEMBERSHIP

Chamber

More than 120 volunteers share a SWEET VICTORY as they come together to make a difference for the Moore business community

In less than 24 hours, the Moore Chamber of Commerce not only grew its membership by 114 during its recent Membership Campaign, but it also brought in more than 120 volunteers to learn about what a chamber does for local businesses, how it elevates the economy, and how it provides meaning to economic development, business success, and a community.

“It is encouraging to see business and community leaders excited about the future of the Chamber and of Moore,” said Jim Jennings, board chair for the Moore Chamber. “As a thriving community, we should all get behind business development in the Moore area to help retain and grow our local businesses.”

This was the second membership campaign the Moore Chamber has held in the last two years, and both were led by “Your Chamber Connection.” The first one took place in 2021, and successfully overcame several obstacles including the COVID-19 pandemic and a historical ice storm in November 2020.

“I’m pleased to see the difference we are making with businesses and in the Moore community by continuing our commitment of being a business champion and valued resource for our members,” said Kim Brown, President/CEO of the Moore Chamber. “Another successful membership campaign this year easily places us in a premier position to better support Moore businesses now and in the future.”

CAMPAIGN RESULTS

The Membership Campaign held Feb. 28 - Mar. 1, brought in 114 new members and/or member upgrades and raised more than $35,000. However, the campaign also came with some friendly competition. Among the 120 volunteers, there were seven strong teams, including the “runners”, that competed against each other to bring in the most members and dollars for the Chamber.

1ST PLACE: The Lime Team, led by Jim Jennings, Clear View Insurance, brought in 37 members and $11,550. Jennings was the 2021 Membership Campaign “Godfather”.

2ND PLACE: Camo Team, led by Brian Ruttman, Moore Norman Technology Center, brought in 35 members and $10,500.

3RD PLACE: Light Blue Team, led by Amy and Joe Singleton, Hite Digital Norman, brought in 19 members and $6,150.

Jerry McConnell of Moore Norman Technology Center and part of the Camo Team was named “Godfather” of the 2023 event for bringing in the most members and raising the most dollar amount.

Honorable mentions include 4th place – Money Green team led by Cacie Duncan, Norman Regional Health System; 5th place – Red team led by Sheila Haworth, Marvin Haworth Homes; and 6th place – Leopard team led by Catherine Landeros, First United Bank. Also, an important part of the campaign was the Pink team (Runners) led by Kathy Gillette.

A celebration party to welcome all the new members, upgraded members, and volunteers is scheduled for Tuesday, April 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. as a come-and-go event at the Moore Chamber, 305 W Main. Find more information here: bit.ly/CAMPAIGNAFTERPARTY2023.
