OCCC Computer Science Dept Teams up with iVUE Robotics to Host Free Drone Camp for HS Students
The Computer Science department at Oklahoma City Community College is thrilled to announce its partnership with iVue Robotics to present an exciting opportunity for high school students to participate in a FREE Drone Camp this summer. This unique camp will focus on designing, constructing, and operating drones using the cutting-edge Develop Air platform.
Develop Air, an open-source and modular drone operating code developed specifically for hands-on teaching, research, and advancement in drone technology, will be at the core of this camp. Participants will have the chance to delve into the world of 3D printing, drone customization, and hands-on drone piloting under the guidance of experienced instructors.
The Drone Camp is an excellent platform for high school students interested in computer science, computer-aided design, or engineering. By participating in this camp, students will gain invaluable knowledge and practical skills and explore the exciting field of drone technology and its applications in various industries.
During the camp, participants will engage in interactive sessions, collaborative projects, and practical exercises, fostering a dynamic learning environment. With a strong emphasis on hands-on experience, attendees can apply their newfound knowledge and skills to build and operate drones using the Develop Air platform.
"At the OCCC Computer Science department, we are dedicated to providing students with opportunities to explore emerging technologies and expand their horizons," said Sara Mathew, OCCC Professor. "Teaming up with iVue Robotics allows us to offer this unique and immersive Drone Camp experience, empowering high schoolers to discover the exciting world of drones and cultivate their passion for computer science and engineering."
The FREE Drone Camp is scheduled to take place during the summer, June 26-30, 2023. Interested high school students can find more information and apply for the camp online. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged to secure a spot.
