Solar Power of Oklahoma welcomed Senate Pro Tempore Greg Treat on Thursday to discuss the renewable energy market, the company announced today.

“Oklahoma has experienced tremendous growth in the green energy sector. Solar Power of Oklahoma has played a large role in helping residents with their alternative energy goals,” said SPO President J.W. Peters. “ We are excited to share what we’ve learned in the last six years and discuss what could be on the horizon in the sustainable energy industry.”

Pro Tem Treat toured the Oklahoma City headquarters alongside Peters and SPO CEO Kevin Jones as the founders shared highlights about the company’s growth.

“I appreciate the opportunity to tour the Solar Power of Oklahoma facility and the hospitality of the company’s leadership,” Treat said. “Local companies are the backbone of our business community. Getting a change to talk to them and learn more about their operation gives me the ability to see what policies we can pursue at the Capitol to help companies like this succeed in Oklahoma now and in the future.”

Solar Power of Oklahoma more than tripled its workforce in 2022 as the demand for renewable energy has increased in the Sooner state. The increase in demand prompted the company to open a second facility in Tulsa. The company has consistently reported year-over-year growth with a 275% increase in system installation in 2021.

Solar Power of Oklahoma is among the Journal Record’s 2022 Best Places to Work. Founded in 2017, Solar Power of Oklahoma is fully owned and operated in Oklahoma. The company’s solar advisors work with home and business owners to custom-design solar systems, which are then installed by SPO installers. Solar Power has installed more than 2,000 solar energy systems for customers throughout Oklahoma. Learn more at
